PS.
Owing
to a good deal of business and to my short trip two Grätz
where I am now staying, I was not able to answer your letter immediately
-- But I resulted wants to except your offers, since my own convenience
games by the terms of your proposal and thus I have heard a good
deal of confusion which it might otherwise be difficult to avoid
-- I willingly undertake never to give my works to any one but
you in Germany, and not even abroad, and provided you want to
have it, I will immediately arrange for you too to receive from
me the same work in Germany, for a smaller fee - the second case
is: should I leave Germany, which may will happen, then I shall
be free to sell my works either in Paris or in London summer:
but, just as in the first case I have mentioned above, in the
second case you may participate in their sale, should you desire
to do so --
If these conditions
suit you, then write to me -- I am inclined to think that in this
way the arrangement would answer both your purpose and mine --
As soon as I have been informed of your views on this matter --
I can then send you immediately three violin quartets [Op. 59],
a new pianoforte concerto [Op. 58], a new symphony [Op.60], the
score of my opera ['Leonore'], and my oratorio [Op. 85] --
In
regard to Herr von Rochlitz you misunderstood me. I really did
send him my cordial greetings without any mental reservations
or misinterpretations -- and likewise to Herr Müller for
whom I have a great regard, regard of one artist for another --
Should you be able to send me some more interesting news, you
would be affording me much pleasure --
With
sincere esteem your
Ludwig
van Beethoven
NB.
I am staying here in Silesia as long as the autumn lasts -- and

- My address is:
