Dear Riess

       Most earnestly do I beseech you to arrange for me to have the wind-instrument parts today. Although I have tried to let you off this task, you must also check the violin parts; and that must be done today, because, as no doubt you are aware, there is to be a rehearsal on the following day. [Anderson footnote: "Probably for Beethoven's concert on April 5, 1803, in the Theater an der Wien, at which his oratorio 'Christus am Ölberge' (Op. 85), his first and second symphonies (Op. 21 and 36) and his third pianoforte concerto (Op. 37) were performed.]
