Anderson v1 pg75-76 - letter #60

The merchant for whom you so nobly shed your blood has not put in an appearance. I am sorry, -- for I too would have gladly given some of my blood in order to atone for the shedding of yours, -- The septet in two parts, I don't like that; and why this division? [Opus 20 was published in two parts, each containing three movements] -- And how is it going to be done? -- It would have been appropriate to have a c[opy] made on finer paper for the Empress. However, it will do as it is -- I have several new compositions. Just let me know what you want -- What other news can you send me from your learned Leipzig? -- I am staying in the country and leading the rather lazy life, in order, however, to lead again later on -- an all the more active one --

                                                    As always your true friend
