Dearest Count of Music

On the best paper I possess I am writing to ask you to be so kind as to play in the septet [Opus 20] at Odescalchi's tomorrow. Schindlecker is not here. So if you don't play, the whole musical performance will have to be cancelled; and in that case I shall be most certainly suspected of having omitted to do something.-Therefore I beg you, dear C[ount] of M[usic], not to refuse to do me this favour. You will certainly be treated with the greatest distinction. Prince Odescalchi himself will write to you tomorrow morning about this - The rehearsal is at eleven o'clock tomorrow morning. I am sending you the score so that you may have a look at the solo part in the last minuet, which, as you know is the most difficult - I am expecting you -
